1. If the insured’s scheduled trip is cancelled due to hospitalisation, will insurance
cover the losses?

Yes, you can have your travel insurance policy claim back from the insurance company as soon as you tell them that you have been hospitalised. The insurance company does not need to confirm your sickness as long as they have a hospital confirmation from you. However, you have to ensure that you provide correct and valid information to your travel insurance provider.

in insurance?

An ASP in insurance is a service provider that has been authorized by a member insurer to assist its policyholders. The ASP can provide a wide range of services to help policyholders take advantage of their policies. They have a direct relationship with the insurer which means that they can help you in a better way. The ASP may bill you for the services provided, or in some policies, the ASP will be a third-party administrator who will handle claims and payments directly from the insurer.

3. Will the insured’s expenses incurred due to trip delay
be covered?

Trip delay benefits are a part of travel insurance. It covers travel delays due to reasons beyond the insured’s control i.e. strikes, bad weather, political reasons, riots, earthquake etc. These delays can be up to 24 hours in a day. In case of long delays the insured might have to stay at a hotel or a similar facility. The insured can also claim extra expenses for accommodation and meals if he is stuck in the destination city. The insured should send all the evidence to the insurance company before claiming any expense.

4.The insured has both of our health and travel insurance. Will the claim be applicable in both
cases and how?

The travel insurance is not a compulsory requirement and is available for people travelling outside the country and they need to buy it in case they want to avail its benefits.
